In this post we are going to learn about History of C language.
- ALGOL(1960s) :-
- (i) The root of all modern languages.
- (ii)introduce in 1960 .
- (iii) It is a first programming language to use a block structure.
- BCPL(Basic Combined Programming language : 1967) :-
- (i)Introduce in 1967.
- (ii) Develop by Martin Richards in AT & T bell laboratories.
- (iii)Used for writing system software's.
- B (1970):
- (i)Ken Thompson studied BCPL language and created new language knows as ' B '.
- (ii) Introduce in 1970s.
- (iii)It is used to create latest version of UNIX OS.
- C(1972):
- (i) C language was created using features of ALGOL, BCPL, and B languages, by Dennis Ritchie at AT & T Bell laboratories in 1972.
- (ii) C language was initially designed as a system implementation language that is (for writing system software's) for the UNIX operating system.
- (iii) It is popularly known as development language of the UNIX operating system.
- (iv)It is a general purpose, block structure, procedural, case-sensitive , portable and middle-level programming language.
